I am the author of The World War Two Timeline Project site, so thanks very much for your interest.
I thought you might like an update on my progress. I have recently added a community contribution mode for the site. People can create accounts, log in and contribute time/map data to the project.

Thanks again for your post and I thought I would add an update. I have implemented an iPhone app called WW2 Daily which uses the data we collect at the World War Two Timeline project to show daily WW2 events on the iPhone.
